Grafel Family Jeep Trip

On Wednesday we decided to try a Grafel Family Jeep Trip.  Each family had a Jeep.   The plan was to go to Yellowstone but the Jeeps did not want to cooperate.  So...we decided not to go so far away.  We took the Jeeps up to Hyalite Lake and farther up the mountain.  We parked and hiked up to Palisades Falls.  It was beautiful!  We then found a great picnic area next to the lake and had a wonderful lunch.  We played around a bit in the water trying to teach the kids how to skip rocks.  It was a fun trip.  We were a bit sad we didn't make it to Yellowstone but still really enjoyed ourselves.  Maybe next year we can make it to the Park.  Thanks Grafels for an awesome day!  :)

Battle of Little Big Horn Reenactment

Since Matt, Tayloe and the kids were in town we all decided to to a Battle of Little Big Horn reenactment.  It was held right over the hill from where the battle really took place.  We sat on bleachers and got to watch the show.  It was impressive.  They had quite a few people involved as "actors".  There were a bunch of Calvary men in wool suits on one side and then a bigger group of Native Americans on the other side.  The Native Americans were amazing horsemen.  They were riding around on bareback and not one of them fell off.  I was impressed.  They walked the audience through what what had led up to the battle and then reenacted the battle where Custer was killed.  We all enjoyed ourselves.  We then got to go around and take pictures with the actors.  The only downer was the heat.  It was about 102 degrees with no shade and we cooked.   Luckily,  we had umbrellas that saved us from major sunburns.  We don't know how the Calvary men survived in their wool get-ups.  After the show we went to the actual battlefield and saw the headstones of the fallen men.

Jason's Pictures

For Jason's birthday this year I asked my awesome brother-in-law, Chris, to draw a couple of car pictures for him.  I sent him some pictures and he did a WONDERFUL job.  The black Jeep is Jason's baby that he rebuilt.  We call her "Frankie" because "she's alive!" (like Frankenstein).  The green and white Toyota Landcruiser was bought by his parents the year he was born (1976).  This past Christmas he received the ownership papers as a gift.  He has great plans for the "Toy" as we lovingly call it.  Thanks Chris....Jason LOVES the pictures.

Happy 36th to Jason!

On June 22nd, my hottie hubby turned 36.  The following day we had a party for him at his parents' house.  It was nice because Matt, Tayloe and the kids were able to be here.  Jason got some nice gifts, his mom's macaroni salad and chocolate cake (he was in heaven).  He also got 36 birthday spankings from the kids.  There was also a "war" of Nerf Guns in the backyard!
Happy Birthday babe...I love you!

Aaron, Elizabeth and the Kids

Aaron, Elizabeth and the kids made the trip to good 'ole Rexburg to come see the family.  Jason and I were able to go down for the weekend.  It was so nice to see everyone, especially to meet my nephew and niece for the first time (too cute!)  My video of Courtney chowing down on the corn of cob is so adorable....you should have seen her go to town.  Happy Birthday to Aaron.  Thanks for making the long trip with four little ones to come visit.  I love you guys!
