Road Trip to Ketchum, Idaho

This past weekend we took a road trip to Ketchum, Idaho to buy a Jeep that Jason found on AutoTrader. He needed a more reliable car now that he drives to work, airport, back to work, and then to school. So we stayed at the Motel Jones in good 'ole Rexburg Friday and drove the 3 1/2 hours to Ketchum. Then...of course, 4 1/2 hours back to Rexburg with the cruddy weather. The snow in Ketchum was crazy....it snowed the whole time and the roads were a mess so it did take us a bit longer than expected. We then woke up Sunday morning to a lot of new snow in Rexburg so it took us a bit longer to get home too. It was a lot of time in the car but worth it because the Jeep is exactly what Jason wants and is in great condition. His car is a 1998 and has less miles than my 2005.....go figure.

The snow in Rexburg was pretty until we had to drive in it!

Jason and his new toy....

Rexburg snow buried our cars....

The Jeep on the way home.....

My boys went and were tired of being in the car that long (we all were)....

Snow in Ketchum....

We drove through the "Craters of the Moon" area. It was cool. Large lava rock formations all over. This is a pic from the car so it isn't the best and I bet it is cooler without all the snow covering everything....

A milestone for my car.....it hit 100,000 miles on the trip....UGH!

Crazy Hair Day at Katie's school

Friday was Crazy Hair Day at Katie's school. So I helped her with a stunning updo for the occasion. She had the ideas about the loopy braids and I used a comb on the rest (as well as lots of hairspray) to get it to stick up. She got a kick out of it and said she received many compliments at school!

My husband the hottie pilot!

On Monday Jason did his first SOLO flight! These are pictures his instructor took and emailed to Jason (thought that was nice). Jason was very excited to fly solo. He said he was a bit nervous at first but then he got used to it and loved it! The school cut a sleeve off his T-shirt and put it on the wall at the school.....a tradition they do! You can also see my hubby on the school website at www.flysummit.net. Go to the tab that says Flight School and down to Student Accomplishments. The school posts pictures of all the students when they pass a milestone in the program. Jason gets to fly 3 days a week for a couple of hours in the afternoon and loves every minute of it! I am just so happy to see him so happy and doing something he has always wanted to do! :)

Dakota's Monkey

I look at everyone else's blogs and they have cute videos of their kids. So I thought I would make a video of my kids too! :) Lately, with Jason in school until 7:30 p.m. every night it is just me and the boys, Dakota and Theo, when Katie isn't here. This is a video of Dakota's favorite game....fetch the monkey. Theo doesn't like to fetch but he does like to bug his brother! :)
