Jason's Birthday!

On June 22nd was Jason's birthday. The BIG 35! :)
We had a BBQ at his parents house and his mom made his favorite Apple Pie for dessert instead of cake.
He got money, a History of Flight Book, a WWII game, a toy plane, a headlight to help with working on the Jeep, and a car...really a car!

He got a Playmobile airplane with little pilot (whom I call "mini me") from Katie. It was a lot of fun to play with. He put it together and we flew it around the yard.

The directions to put the plane together made me laugh because there were no real directions just sad faces for what not to do and happy faces for what should be done next to pictures of what it should look like. Those are my kind of directions! :)

His parents gave him the pink slip to a 1976 Toyota Landcruiser (his mom drove it around when she was pregnant with Jason) that Jason has wanted forever. That was probably his favorite gift.

If anyone can HELP ME with fixing the extra space that keeps showing up between pictures and words, etc....I will love you forever! :)

Trip to Spokane, Washington

On June 10-12 we took a road trip to Spokane Washington to celebrate the arrival of summer break! On the way we passed through Coeur d'alene, Idaho which is beautiful. I would move there in a heartbeat.
This picture is of Lake Coeur d'alene....

We made it to Spokane....

Spokane has many old, beautiful buildings that I loved.

We went to a large city park called Park Manito which is all flowers. They have different gardens with different flowers. I was looking forward to the rose garden. But as you can see from the picture below.....not the time of year for roses. Bummer. But we did find one that was blooming and it was beautiful.

These trees were very interesting.

Our favorite spot in the park was the Japenese Gardens. It was amazing.

Jason's boss told us we had to eat at Frank's Diner for breakfast. It is an old railroad car converted into a restaurant. It as the best breakfast I have had in a long time.

We went to Riverfront Park which is right in the middle of Spokane and it has many things to do. We walked around, went in a gondola ride over the Spokane Falls, saw an IMAX movie, went on the antique carousel, played on the big red wagon, and much more.

Our gondola ride.....

There was a lot of water in the falls...very impressive.

It was Gay Pride Day at Riverfront Park. There were many interesting people there!

Katie went on a ride at the little amusement park they have next to the IMAX theater.

Then we went to a Children's Museum which is in the lower level of the mall. It was all hands on stuff. Katie had fun.

We had a lot of fun. It was nice weekend trip. The drive was beautiful as well. I recommend it to anyone.
